My last recommendation is Tanaka Farms in Irvine, which is about an hour south of Los Angeles. This is a favorite farm for many people as it has been running for a long time and is a staple in the community. The farm is fun to experience with tons of pumpkins that you can pick from and many different activities. We bought tickets to ride the tractor and go into the small petting zoo while we were there. It’s another fun farm for a half-day trip, but do get tickets online, especially for weekends.
During the Halloween season, it is hard to beat a family trip to a local pumpkin patch. While many smaller ones pop up all around the city, there are some fantastic pumpkin patches around Los Angeles if you are up for a drive. I spent the first few days of October traveling around to many of the most well-known spots to share them with you in this post. Here are five great pumpkin patches near Los Angeles, and let me know if there is one I left off in the comments. This list starts in the city and makes its way out to the surrounding areas. Also, note that most of these cost to get in and cost for the activities as well. Let me know what your favorite is in the comments!

Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch

Here is a video I made of all these recommendations as well.

Underwood Family Farms

Live Oak Canyon Farm is further east, about an hour and 15 minutes from Los Angeles. Live Oak Canyon is the most like a fair, with fair foods, lots of rides, and even fair games where you win prizes. This is a big farm with a corn maze, photo opportunities, and the option of shooting a pumpkin out of a cannon. Remember that each activity does cost to experience, including the petting zoo, but my whole family had fun visiting this farm early in the fall season.

Cal Poly Pomona Pumpkin Festival

So there you have it, 5 of my favorite pumpkin patches in the LA area. Be sure to let me know what I left off and what your favorite one is in the comments.
Heading east from Los Angeles, the next spot is the Cal Poly Pomona Pumpkin Festival. This pumpkin patch and festival is popular every year, and you want to get tickets online if you’re going to go. They have a pumpkin patch, corn maze, sunflower fields you can walk through, food, and many other activities. They also have some interactive farm events, which are fun to see, like sheep shearing and cow milking demonstrations, and some old farm equipment that is running for you to see. They were the only ones with a children’s pumpkin patch, separate from the main patch. When we went on a weekend, a band was playing, and it was a great way to spend a fall day.

First up, Mr. Bones is probably one of the best pumpkin patches in Los Angeles. Mr. Bones has been an LA staple for a few decades now, moving from Beverly Hills to where it now sits in Culver City. While it is smaller than many on the list, it still has a petting zoo, bounce houses, food trucks, and lots of pumpkins for sale. You have probably seen this spot on social media since their pumpkin houses are popular for people wanting a Halloween photo. It’s a fun area to visit if you don’t want to drive out of the city, be sure to grab tickets online.

Next up, we head about 45 minutes northwest of Los Angeles to Underwood Family Farms. While I love every spot on this list, it would probably be Underwood Family Farms if I had to pick a favorite. This massive farm is a fall wonderland with pumpkins as far as you can see and all sorts of activities. They had a pumpkin house, many different rides, many photo opportunities, and a great animal area. They go all out for their weekly fall harvest events, which have pig races and lots of other fun activities for the whole family. Check the dates online if you want to attend one of those. They also had some of the largest pumpkins I have ever seen here as well—overall a great pumpkin patch and well worth the drive.
